Maja Christina studied voice and piano at the Jazz school Basel, Switzerland, which
she completed successfully with her diploma in 2000. Since then she works as a vocal
teacher, composer and author. In the last years she toured with various bands at
home and abroad.
In 2003 her debut album Romance was released with a collection of original compositions
and new arranged covers, reaching from pop to soul as well as the Great American
Songbook. Critics from the national and international specialised press praised this
debutante.Her CD was not only released in Europe, but also in USA, Japan, Taiwan
and Thailand. In addition songs of her CD were played on the radio in Denmark, Greece,
Germany, Japan and Switzerland. Moreover, BMW Japan specifically used the song Romance
from her album for their promotion video.
In 2007, Maja Christina released her second
album Quite a night, which exclusively presents original compositions, varying from
Soul to Blues and Jazz. With her musical companions of many years, Roland Köppel
(piano, hammond), Emanuel Schnyder (bass), Pascal Graf (drums) and the new members
of the band Marco Figini (guitar) and Thomas Achermann (alto sax), Maja Christina
has professional musicians by her side, who helped her in realising her ideas.
In 2009 her first novel "Ninas Auszeit" was released.
